Daimler Automobile Factory

In a large automotive production environment, lighting needs to deliver reliable visibility across machinery, production lines and circulation areas - while any renovation must minimize disruption to ongoing operations. At the Daimler Automobile Factory in Germany, TRIECO's Universal Retrofit Module provides an efficient way to upgrade the existing lighting infrastructure without rebuilding the complete trunking system.
As shown in the project, long continuous lighting runs extend across the factory ceiling, working naturally with the existing industrial architecture and complex technical installations. Instead of removing the original trunking rails, the retrofit solution allows the existing trunking structure and circuit to be reused, replacing conventional fluorescent lighting with modern LED modules. This avoids unnecessary rail replacement, structural modification and rewiring, significantly simplifying the renovation process.Our Universal Retrofit Module uses highly compatible flying power pick-up plugs designed for 30+ types of mainstream European trunking rails, enabling new LED modules to connect directly to existing systems. Tool-free installation and removal further reduce installation complexity - an important advantage for large factories where lighting upgrades need to be completed quickly and with minimal impact on production.
Compared with traditional fluorescent tubes, the LED retrofit provides a cleaner, more continuous lighting effect while improving energy performance and reducing long-term maintenance requirements. The system offers luminous efficacy of up to 180 lm/W, multiple professional optical distributions and optional intelligent lighting controls, allowing the lighting to be adapted to different production and working areas.
By retaining the existing infrastructure and upgrading only what is necessary, TRIECO transforms an aging fluorescent installation into a more efficient and flexible LED lighting system - reducing renovation complexity, shortening installation time and extending the value of the existing trunking infrastructure.
